Think Pink, Baby!

Our fearless leader, Sara, is teaching her very first class this weekend at a crop named Scrap Pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. National Breast Cancer Awareness month is October, and this year marks the 25th anniversary of this event. Such an auspicious occasion needs a little bigger celebration, don't you think? So, we here at All Things Unity, decided we would start the observance of breast cancer awareness a little early!

Here are some samples from the Design Team to get you thinking in that direction:
Savannah

Cathy {Guest  Designer}
We'd love for you to join us in celebrating!! Create your next Unity stamp project (anything you can stamp with Unity is acceptable - including the ippity line) and upload it here. USE THAT PINK!! Make it sweet, joyous or in remembrance of someone. Tell us the STORY about what inspired you to make that project, how breast cancer has touched your life, anything you do to help improve awareness, your plans for October related to breast cancer... Get the idea?? Good!!

Hey - and don't forget the men out there when you're spreading the word about awareness. Did you know that 1% of men will be diagnosed with breast cancer? Seems a small number, until it happens to you. You can learn more about Men's Breast Cancer at the Breast Cancer Awareness website, or at Out of the Shadow of Pink website. If you prefer to do a blue Unity project for BCAM for this challenge, and tell how you will spread awareness for men's breast cancer, you too will be entered in the drawing.

You'll have until midnight October 2 to get your entry posted. Those who link their project here, using pink or blue, and telling their story will be eligible for the drawing of a Suzi Blue by Unity stamp of their choice from Limelight! and a matching $10 donation in their name to the Susan G. Komen Foundation!! Woohoo!!!

So let's get this party started EARLY and get the word out!! October 2, midnight deadline... GO!

FWF {Sept. 17}

Surprise---It's me [Sav] again!! I hope you are enjoying your FWF so far--if you want the entire list of blogs to hop, click HERE!

I'm so glad you have stopped by the All Things Unity challenge site! You know how much I love love love my Unity and Ippity stamps! Well...I combined several sets to make this fun birthday card! I also love to combine sets--that is what is so great about Unity--you could use stamps from any sets together:} Just love it! I created this for the Unity Addicts challenge; The challenge was to use this bingo card and use one line for all the elements on the project. I picked "G across". Tags: check--I used two of them--one big and one small. Ribbon: check--I used a small scrap piece of my cream twill ribbon. Stitching: check--I stitched on the banner {Ippity Love in Return}. Masking: check--I might have done this wrong....I was thinking of the masking that I do with covering up parts of the stamp and inking/stamping. I do this all the time with sentiments that don't fit on my tags or die cuts. I will mask part of the sentiment and stamp...then clean and repeat until the whole sentiment is on the card. So that masking--check. I think [now that I am typing this] they might have meant masking where you lay something down and spray over it or paint over it and it leaves a negative spot where your design piece was....I actually don't even know what I'm talking about now:} Anyway....Blue: check--I used a baby blue paper for the butterfly and the left side of the card. LOVE how this card turned out--so cute! I also used Unity's butterfly from Butterfly Garden and that text stamp is from Unity Addicts May KOTM. Just LOVE this card!

Now--on to the ATU challenge! You have until tomorrow night {Saturday, Sept. 18} at midnight to enter in our inspiration challenge. Use this photo [to the right] and any Unity or Ippity stamps to make a new creations and link it up HERE! I just love this little building--which Unity has a little building stamp in the Oct. 09 KOTM....or you could use the banners from the picture and from Unity's May KOTM...or you could make a card like I did [photo below]...this photo inspired me to make a card about a vacation--that is where I think I might see this building. The possibilities are endless! I hope that you will join in the fun! Remember to link up HERE!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you will play along with us!! And be sure to stop by the Unity blog for a complete list of FWF creations! What a fantastic blog hop today!! LOVE Unity
Love, Sav

Be Funky, Be You!! FWF

Hey chickies!!  It’s time for your weekly installment of Friday Fun!!

It’s me Sara and I’m giving you a double dose this week.

Ok not two cards, I’m not as adventurous as Savannah

but I have two challenges you can play with.

1st: I hope you’re still playing with us on the What’s Your Flavor?

You still have until tomorrow at midnight to get your cards in!!

There are still prizes up for grabs, I might even be able to throw in a few extra things.

Yeah, because it’s not like I don’t have an entire craft room full of stuff :D

2nd:  This week’s Friday Fun Challenge is Something Old/Something New

Come on, we all have Old and New stuff in our stashes.

Wanna see more about what this one is about?  See details here.BeFunky

Ok, I will stop blabbing now enough to share my card.

I think it took me less time to make it then it’s taking me to write the post.

As you can see I broke out my brand new Kit of the Month for August, all you need.  I really like this set, I know, I know, which one don’t we like? But this stamp set just screamed at me to use it this way, especially with this sentiment.  As for the circle that’s around it, that’s been in my stash for YEARS!!  It’s a Scrapworks Hugz.  I don’t even think they make them anymore.  But I still have quite a few, LOL.

Thanks for hanging out with me this long.  Hope you’ll play along with us!!

If you want some more awesome inspiration stop by the Unity blog for the full FWF lineup.
